Over £75,000 was raised for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital after hundreds of people took to the airport’s runway at 2am on a winter’s night to run 5k.
A team from Liverpool John Lennon Airport carefully and comprehensively planned the logistics for the event over a period of several months, bringing everything together to deliver an enjoyable, safe and memorable experience for all involved.
Minutes after the final plane of the day landed, the runners braved the wind, cold and rain to dash along the runway for a good cause.
A total of £78,043 was raised for the 450,000 children treated by Alder Hey each year.
We were on site through the night looking after videography and photography, cheering on every runner as they crossed the finish line in dramatic conditions.
